i feel pretty listless today. what i need to do to lift my spirits?

centennial_2cups_2swords.jpgtwo-card tarot spread showing the 3 of cups and 2 of swords

the cause of the problem: three of cups

Cups are related to feelings, imagination, and relationships. Threes represent unification, synthesis, and fruition.

Three women dance together, seemingly in celebration at a harvest festival. They hold their cups up high in a toast, but the cups seem heavy and unwieldy. I think that it must be exhausting to dance while holding such weighty cups.

This card feels positive and fun, but reminds me of the exhaustion I feel both physically and mentally at the end of a party. My eye is most focused on the cups.

This card tells me that while things are going well and I'm enjoying myself... I'm simply tuckered out. I'm listless because I need more rest!

the cure: two of swords

Swords relate to mental health, thoughts, and ideas. Twos relate to balance, stability, and choice.

A woman sits blindfolded outside, in the dark. She hold two swords crossed over her chest. The swords themselves seem light, like they're made from aluminum. Or perhaps she's just very strong. Either way, she seems at rest. This scene reminds me of sleeping in a cool, dark room.

This card feels peaceful and relaxed. My eye is drawn to the blindfold; it reminds me of one might wear to bed.

This card tells me I need to find balance and set aside some time today to rest. Perhaps I need to mirror the Two of Swords and turn up the A/C, close the curtains, and have a long nap. With rest and healthier practices, I might develop the physical stamina that all the women in both cards seem to have.
