quick tips

#status_ongoing

Here's my ongoing list of crochet tips. Newer tips are at the bottom!

  1. Keep a project log for your crochet work. This can be a digital log or a paper one. For each project, note the following things listed below. A log is a helpful reference when you put a WIP down and revisit it later or if you want to recreate something you've made before. For example, I make a lot of blankets. Knowing how much yarn I used for blankets of different sizes helps me calculate the amount of yarn I need for a new blanket.
    1. Project name
    2. Start date
    3. Pattern or stitch used
    4. Yarn used
    5. Hook size
    6. Gauge
    7. Finished size
    8. Finished date
  2. Use a slip knot to "lock" your last stitch before putting a project down. Pull your working loop to about 5-6 inches long, and make a slip knot with it. The knot will keep your last stitch in place, and it's easily undone when you're ready to start again.
